ThreadBind Studios

An independent studio making games about words.

We're small, we work remotely, and we're building our first game: Weave, a roguelike word game where the shape of your word scores.

Our first game is Weave.

Trace words through a grid of letters. Every 90° bend multiplies the score. Beat eight rising targets, or the run unravels.

It's a roguelike word game for iOS and Android, in development now. You can play a real loom from it on its page.

Why weaving

A loom turns straight threads into a pattern that holds together. We like games that work the same way: a few plain rules that, crossed the right way, make something with real depth.

That's where the name comes from, and why Weave's words are traced through a grid. The lattice in our mark is a basket weave, one of the oldest patterns a loom makes.

How we work

  1. The mechanic is the point.

We tune scoring curves, modifiers and pouches by hand until a good move feels good. In Weave, the shape of your trace is worth as much as the word.

  2. Words are for playing with.

Long words, odd words, words you half remember. A game about language should reward curiosity, not a memorised list.

  3. Easy to start, deep to stay.

Drag a finger, spell a word. Underneath, multipliers compound and every run asks for a different plan.

Say hello.

Questions, press, or a word game you think we should play? We read everything.
